U.S.A. Hawaii Scott #75 1894 2¢ Brown Re-entries (Double Transfers)
Plating Hawaii's 1894-99 Two Cent Stamp, by Albert J. Schwalm, published by Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Stamp Club, Houston, 1973 (Reprinted in 1996) .
This stamp was printed in sheets of 200, four panes of 50 (5 X 10) arranged in upper left, upper right, lower left & lower right panes. There are two recognized states of each pane. The varieties on each are covered individually in Schwalm’s book. (Descriptions are not yet complete.) Return

Indeed, most of the re-entries occur only in a small area, yet the shift is significant enough that many of them can even be called misplaced entries. New! It is suggested in Schwalm’s book that the steel plate used for this stamp was thicker than normal and that the siderographer may have had trouble raising and lowering the transfer roll, thereby placing or dropping it on the plate, resulting in the many misplaced entries. Interesting! *1 Scott
